Chatterbox Heads $1 million Grade 1 Cotillion
11 of the nations top three year-old fillies are set to contest the 46th running of the Grade 1 Cotillion September 19 at Parx in a race with Breeders Cup Distaff implications.
At 3/1 on the morning line, I’m a Chatterbox is the lukewarm favorite despite proving herself against top class competition all season for trainer Larry Jones. In 2015, the daughter of Munnings has raced six times – all against stakes competition and thrice at the grade 1 level – winning three, finishing second twice, and recording one third place effort. In the Coaching Club American Oaks July 26 at Saratoga, I’m a Chatterbox crossed the wire first before being disqualified for stretch interference. She returned to run second in the Grade 1 Alabama Stakes August 22 at the Spa. The filly has only failed to hit the board once in nine career starts.
Lace should take more pressure
Embellish the Lace (4/1) defeated I’m a Chatterbox in the Alabama, but was the beneficiary of setting a slow, uncontested pace in the 1 1/4 mile race. In the 1 1/16 mile Cotillion, the pace is sure to be much quicker, but Embellish the Lace has trained exceptionally well of late for trainer Anthony Dutrow and seems more than capable of handling the additional pressure.
Brandi tries to regain form
Last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Take Charge Brandi (5/1) has started just twice in 2015 and finished tenth in her last start, the Grade 1 Test Stakes. The speedy D. Wayne Lukas trainee should be one of the ones to challenge Embellish the Lace early.

Preakness Stakes 2019 Future Bet Odds
After all the drama of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, the racing scene shifts to Pimlico Race Course in anticipation of the running of the 2019 Preakness Stakes. A couple of the high-profile contenders from the Derby are expected in the field, as well as a number of new shooters that add to the handicapping puzzle and could provide good betting value.
